Ford Switches to AeroVironment for Chargers, Drops Best Buy:

Until recently, if you wanted a charger installed for your Ford electric car, you called the Geek Squad. Best Buy was Ford’s charging installation partner, but the big-box retailer is backing away from its wholesale embrace of EVs.


According to Mike Tinskey, Ford’s director of global vehicle electrification and infrastructure, “Best Buy will still be selling EVSEs on its website, but they found that managing the installations was a bigger job than they had anticipated. They didn’t want to stay in, long term.” EVSE, or electric vehicle supply equipment, is the official term for what is commonly called a home charger.
