2014 Ford Fusion Engine And Equipment Changes Revealed

2014 Ford Fusion Engine And Equipment Changes Revealed:
2013-ford-fusion-hybridThe 2014 Ford Fusion has not yet been released, but Ford has let slip some details changes to from the 2013 model, including new colors and a new engine.
The recently confirmed availability of the 1.5-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine, which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. This will replace the previous 1.6-liter powertrain that was used in 2013 model, and was largely done to accommodate Chinese engine size laws. As we found in our review of the 2013 Ford Fusion with 1.6 liter EcoBoost, the engine provided ample power but so-so fuel economy.  There are now inflatable rear seatbelts as well, which were used in the Explorer, as well as the options of cooled seats, and a heated steering wheel in the Titanium and Titanium hybrid models.
There are new paint hues, including “DarkSide”, and “Sunset” which will replace “Bordeaux Reserve” and “Ginger Ale”. There will also be a new interior color called “Soft Ceramic”, which is light gray. Brick red leather seats are also an option for Titanium models.
Ford is now offering an entry-level hybrid S product line, joining the SE, and Titanium variants on the Fusion. It will exclude the powered-drivers seat, rear seat HVAC ducts, keyless entry pad, satellite radio, and heated side mirrors. No word on how much this will save drivers, but Ford seems to be feeling the heat from other competitors low-priced offerings.
