Chemical lemon polishing wipes such as those offered by Pledge keep your wooden furniture gleaming and house smelling fresh, but you can easily make your own version using a lemon and common household items.

Mix equal parts white distilled vinegar and water, and add in a few drops of olive oil. Soak rags, dishcloths, etc in this solution until fully saturated. Wring out excess liquid from the rags, lay them out with small pieces of lemon rind or zest on each cloth. Fold the rinds into each cloth and place them in a glass container. Add any remaining lemon peel after all cloths are inside and seal the glass container tightly.
Using this recipe will result in cloths that will stay moist for a long time as long as you're vigilant about keeping the container sealed. After using, wash or boil the cloths and repeat the process for a new batch.
